USVA Ready to Expeditiously Implement Provisions of Filipino Veterans Equity Bill Once it is Signed into Law

At a meeting with members of the delegation of the Veterans Affairs and
Welfare Committee of the Philippine House of Representatives on 17 April
2008, officials from the U.S. Veterans Administration assured the
Philippine delegation that their agency is ready to expeditiously
implement the provisions of a Filipino WWII Veterans Equity Bill as soon
as it is singed into law.
The Philippine delegation is headed by Congressman Antonio Diaz,
chairman of the Veterans Affairs and Welfare Committee. He is
accompanied by fellow Committee members Congressman Rozzano Rufino
Biazon and Congressman Roman Romulo; PVAO Administrator Ernesto Carolina
and Veterans Foundation of the Philippines Vice President Justice (Ret.)
Manuel Pamaran. The U.S. Veterans Administration were represented at the
meeting by Deputy Undersecretary Keith Perdigo and Director Bradley
Mayes of the VA’s Compensation and Pension Services.
