Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap Pushes for Broader Philippine-US Trade Relations

During an official visit to Washington D.C. on 14-16 November 2007,
Philippine Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap met with the U.S. Special
Trade Representative and officials from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture and Department of State to discuss positive developments in
the Philippine agricultural sector and to explore the possibility of
expanding RP-U.S. trade relations through multilateral and/or bilateral
free trade agreements. Secretary Yap also spoke at a dinner of the Coral
Triangle Initiative, a new global initiative to protect the vast area
within the Indo-Pacific that contains the richest marine life in the
world.
