International Nurses Day to be Commemorated on 12/May/08
The Department of
Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association,
the Global Learning Development Center, the Conrad Adenauer Foundation,
and the Asian Institute of Management, and in commemoration of
International Nurses Day on 12 May 2008, is hosting a televideo
conference aimed at drawing Philippine healthcare professionals into one
live, “on-line” chat room where they may present ideas and express their
grievances via web-cast.
The on-line conference will serve to identify pertinent host country
regulations and practices and how these rules impact upon market
accessibility and the host country economy, bridging professional
expectations, and undertaking a general registry of professional
stakeholders/members in each of the host countries.
The conference also aims to bring Philippine nurses from around the
world together in order to examine their challenges and complexities of
managing primary health care in their respective communities.
The main Philippine site for the conference is at the Asian Institute of
Management Campus in Makati City and will be live and on-line from 7:30
to 9:20 PM (Manila time). Filipino healthcare professionals residing in
the Washington DC Metropolitan Area will be given the chance to
participate in this televideo, “on-line” conference. The World Bank
Headquarters in Washington DC (18th & H St) has been designated one of
the teleconference sites worldwide and will go on-line on 12 May 2008
from 7:30 to 9:30 am.
The televideo conference is expected to run for 1 ½ hours and shall
consider the following issues:
· Keynote presentation on the role of Nurses in Primary Health Care
· Philippine Nurses Association Foreign Chapters Presentations
· Open Forum
