2nd Informal Discussion on Philippines' Compact Eligibility with the MCC Held at Los Angeles, CA

30 April 2008 - The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C., organized the 2nd Informal Discussion on the Philippines' Compact Eligibility and the Compact Development process. Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon and MCC CEO John Danilovich led the discussion with the FilCom leaders of Los Angeles County. Ambassador Danilovich said that "the Filipino diaspora is extremely important in the process" and that it is crucial "to take ownership of the program in a very effective way to get the best results for the Filipino people." Other MCC Officials who joined the discussion are Ms. Gina Porto, Senior International Attorney, and Ms. Jeri Jensen, Managing Director, Department of Policy and International Relations.
