Statement of Amb. Gaa on the On the Makati Blast
I join our leaders and our people back home and the Filipino
Community in the United States, in expressing our deepest sympathies to
the victims, their friends and their families. We pray for the quick and
safe recovery of those injured.
Let us allow the authorities to complete their investigation. Let us
remain united in seeking the truth, in pursuing justice and in
protecting our gains.
If this is a deliberate act, the perpetrators of this heinous crime,
with their bombs and dark hearts, might be able to shake the foundations
of buildings and structures -- but they can never shake the foundations
of our faith and commitment to preserve our peaceful nation and our
democratic society. END.
