Amb. Gaa Meets with Ohio Officials; Discusses Sister School Agreement and Ohio Business Mission to the Philippines
During an official visit
to the State of Ohio on 16 February 2008, Philippine Ambassador to the
United States Willy C. Gaa met with the following local officials:
Representative Clayton R. Luckie of the 39th House District of Ohio and
Dayton City Mayor Rhine Mclin. Representative Luckie, who also
represented the Governor of the State of Ohio proposed the establishment
of a sister high school agreement between the Philippines and the State
of Ohio and expressed his interest in joining a business mission to the
Philippines.
In addition to the presence of 20,000 Filipinos who are among the top
income earners in the State of Ohio, there are extensive business ties
between the Philippines and the State of Ohio due to investments and
presence in the Philippines of American companies that are based in
Ohio.
