Internship Program

The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs believes in the essential role of the Filipino youth in national development and in their proper education. As the premiere institution of the government, the Department has, through the years, supported universities and colleges in molding students through its Internship Program. The Department hopes to be able to continue contributing to the formation of the Filipino youth abroad by providing an equally enriching environment conducive to learning and growth through its Foreign Service Posts.

The Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C. accepts part- to full time interns year round. Internship hours can be tailored to the academic schedule of the intern but should fall within the Embassy’s official work hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, except during Philippine and U.S. holidays. On occasion, interns may be asked to work evening/weekend events.

There are no deadlines for application. However, the Embassy will need at least three weeks from submission of requirements to complete the application process.

This position is unpaid. Internships will not lead to subsequent employment or permanent positions with the Embassy. Neither will acceptance into the Embassy's internship program necessarily entitle students to an entry visa to the U.S. (for those who do not hold appropriate visas or are not legal residents) or to a conversion/extension of their current visas.
